Welcome to a world of adventure at Calypso Cove...

In 2012, so the legend goes,

Captain Calypso was fleeing his foes,

When all of a sudden a freak storm arose,

& brought him to Barnsley in rain & in snows...

 

 

 

 

 

 

Slide inside the volcano’s belly,

you’ll slide very fast, so give it some welly!

Don’t give up, just swim harder,

before you know it you’re spewed out just like lava!

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It’s fight or flight on this super fast slide,

so put on your brave face and enjoy the ride,

it’s over quite quickly so try it once more,

the adrenalin rush is never a bore!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Meet the Kraken, creature of the sea,

it’s green and it’s fun, for all the family.

The pirates will often speak of its fame,

but although it sounds scary, it’s really quite tame!

 

 

 

 

 



Slide down on your own, or three at a time,

pull a funny face while reading this rhyme!

The water’s approaching, quick: shout “Splash Ahoy!”

now get out of the way for the other girls and boys!!

 

 

 

 

Stuck in the shallow part of the bay, Captain Calypso’s favourite ship

When it sunk he felt dismay, he sulked and stuck out his bottom lip

The good news now, it’s here to stay, so head there quickly and take a mate

Splash and slide and generally play, spot pirates, sea creatures and pieces of eight!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When other pirates heard of the Cove

They rushed here to see it in their droves

The ship you see here was itself run aground

A good place to play, you seem to have found!

 

 

 

 

 

Many a shipmate has here come a cropper

Hurtling down with a sharp belly flopper

Take care not to do a running bomb

But dive with style and with aplomb!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Carved into the rock is a pirate’s face,

It makes for a rather spooky place…

Water flowing all around,

Falling and splashing onto the ground…
